Biotin, Jojoba, Castor: What Each Ingredient Actually Does

Jojoba oil is chemically similar to the natural oils (sebum) your scalp already produces, which is part of why it's often used as a lightweight moisturizer that absorbs without feeling greasy.

Castor oil is thicker and richer, and is commonly included in hair-care blends aimed at the scalp and roots, often paired with lighter oils to balance its texture.

Biotin (vitamin B7) is a B-vitamin that plays a role in normal hair structure; it's usually included in hair-care formulas as a supporting nutrient rather than a standalone treatment.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant frequently added to oil blends to help protect the formula itself, alongside general nourishing benefits for skin and scalp.

None of these ingredients work as an overnight fix — they're generally understood as supporting a longer-term hair-care routine, not a substitute for a balanced diet or medical advice when hair concerns are significant.
