Scalp Massage 101: Technique Matters as Much as the Oil

A good scalp massage starts with the pads of your fingers, not your nails — small, firm circular motions work better than scratching or dragging.

Work section by section: hairline, crown, sides, and the back of the head, spending roughly the same amount of time on each area so the oil is distributed evenly.

Two to five minutes is usually enough for a relaxing, effective massage — there's no need to overdo it, and consistency over time matters more than any single session.

If you're short on time, even a quick one-minute massage while the oil sits is better than skipping the habit altogether.
